Living in a travelling artist house in Marrakech @RiadJaaneman

Staying at Riad Jaaneman was like borrowing the house of a traveling artist friend for few days…

Everyday I stumbled upon new pieces of decor. The kind of pieces and books that you collect in a lifetime of travel. In fact, the book collection is simply impressive: Coffee table books, mostly about travel and design with stunning pictures that makes your mind wander while you’re sipping your coffee, along with classics like Sherlock Holmes, Balzac and… Harry Potter, a lot of lonely planet guides of different parts of the world, Moroccan writers, and writings about Morocco. Honestly, it was a bit frustrating that I didn’t have the time to fully take advantage of the library.

It felt like home!

The service was amazing and not overwhelming, the staff was there when needed but we barely noticed them otherwise. It’s the kind of places where you want to invade the common areas and just live, watch a movie, dive into a book, work or enjoy a Moroccan mint tea break.

Location, location, location…

The riad is located in what I understood to be Marrakech’s hipster area, just across Dar El Bach palace. It’s in the heart of the medina but a bit away from Jamaa El Fna and the vibrating souks. Near the riad there are a lot of local designers boutiques and hip restaurants that blend with traditional Moroccan craft shops, artisans and habitants.

Oh, and for our first travel as full time digital nomads, we couldn’t hope for a better… wifi connection!

Thank you Boutique Souk for arranging the partnership and thank you Riad Jaaneman for hosting us. Boutique Souk have the most amazing Instagram, check it out: @boutiquesouk

I was invited as a guest by Riad Jaaneman As always, all opinions are my own.
