Pueblos blancos, the white villages of Andalucia

Nov 20, 2017Europe, Travel

Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos de Cádiz. Probably the best part of the road trip…

After Ronda, which is a part of the pueblos blancos, the white villages, we dedicated a whole day to visit the main mountain pueblos of the “road of Cadix”. The next villages are a lot smaller than Ronda, and sometimes the car could barely fit the narrow streets. We stopped for an hour or two in each village, we wandered the street and visited the local main cathedral (and took a lot of pictures). The word “breathtaking” is easily overused, but let me tell you that the views on those villages and the nearby villages are in fact breathtaking!

The Andalusian flavor at its best, charming little houses, flowers and white washed walls. You can spot a lot of villages in the map below, but the most popular one advised by locals are :

Setenil de las Bodegas

Olvera

Zahara

Arcos de la Frontera

Here is a map of the road of Cadix: here

This is exactly what roadtrips are for, giving you the freedom to stop and go as you want and with a scenery like this, you will want to stop believe me. I will let you discover the rest in pictures:
