Cinemagraphs and creative projects

Hello loves,

We’ve been working on side projects on this trip and we launched a production website for hospitality businesses. As I told you, this gap year was not about quitting our jobs to travel, but about first slowly unraveling a new way of living. Second, exploring all the creative projects and passions that you set aside when you have a full time job. You know that “I wish I had more time to …(fill the gap)”.

We submitted a proposal to a partner and this was a sample in one of the projects. I’m not sure if they will go for this option, but I thought they were too beautiful not to share.

This format is called cinemagraphs, it’s an editorial elevated version of Boomerang. They are different from GIFS, cinemagraphs are still photos with a subtle motion. America’s Next Top Model did a whole season shooting cinemagraphs (cycle 20), they were calling them flixels in reference to one of the softwares used to create them (who probably sponsored the cycle).

I personally love them, there is something hypnotising about cinemagraphs and I am sure that it will get more attention for a brand from their customers, in an era where everyone is flooded with constant content, I think it’s a good way to stand out.

What do you think? Cinemagraphs or still photos?

I am living in this breezy linen white blouse and bow sandals for the moment…
