Three ways to wear a wrap dress

Aug 23, 2018Fashion, Style1 comment

We all have got hidden gems in our closets that we forget about. And with the Instagram hype, people want to change looks all the time. First of all, there is nothing wrong with wearing outfits on repeat. Even for us bloggers! It’s sustainable and only sane, especially when you invest in a pricey piece. Second, you can actually wear the same pieces but differently. I became a master trickster of playing with the same pieces to create different outfits during our last trip. I had to roll with the same clothes for months, if this is not a trigger for creativity, I don’t know what is?

That’s for me when fashion blogs make all their sense. Inspire readers to find their style, find the right pieces and also revive their wardrobes in different and creative ways.

How to wear a floral wrap dress?

I recently got this beautiful “L’académie” floral wrap dress from Revolve in New York. Her name is “the Martin dress”! This pattern screams bohemian chic, it’s feminine and the tie accentuates the waist. The designers keep reinventing wrap dresses, but they are pretty much timeless pieces. This one has a plunging neckline, but let me show you three different ways (out of many more) to wear it with more or less coverage. I love the 100% cotton fabric, breezy and soft for the summer and the dress has adjustable straps.

Revolve brand

This is my second piece from Revolve (first one here). So far I’m very happy with the quality. Sure it’s quite an investment, but those are pieces that you can keep for years, or resell if you get bored easily. Revolve is actually an e-commerce concept-store, that holds many independent and well-know designers. I love that this is purely a digital success story and it’s a brand that gives a chance to new designers, bloggers launching their lines and they are starting collaborating with less known bloggers (like myself). The price range is a little bit on the luxurious side. But the thing with designer items, is that even when they look dull from afar, once you wear them they just feel right! The fit is by far better than the regular street brands and they hold on for years.

Which look is your favourite? Let me know in the comments!

Look 1: Beach ready

You can’t do more simple than that. This breezy dress is ideal for the beach, over you favourite bandeau bikini. Add your favourite beach bag, a pair of slides, sunglasses and eventually a hat and you’re beach ready!

Look 2: Stroll in the city

If you’re not comfortable showing that much cleavage, or if you are looking for a more urban look, you can wear it over a tee- shirt or a top. This look is perfect for a weekend city walk or a Sunday brunch. Paired with a pair of sneakers, statement earrings and a structured bag.

Look 3: Cozy at home

This summer dress doesn’t have to die in the next seasons. You can still wear it as a layering piece to brighten a fall outfit. Here I am wearing it over a culotte pair of jeans with my favourite cardigan. Such a cozy and comfortable outfit.

I hope that you love this dress as much as I do and more importantly, that this article inspired you to play with your closer and create outfits that fit your style, you life and where you feel your best. Have a lovely day!

I’ll definitely try the urban look. I have a similar dress that I find a bit revealing so I’ll give the t-shirt underneath look a try 🙂 thanks for the inspiration sweetie :*
